The PTSenR™ PTSPS096 Lightning Arrestor Monitor, also known as the Lightning Trap Leakage
Current and Action Recorder, is a high-voltage AC power system integrated with a zinc oxide
lightning shock absorber. This instrument is threaded into the lightning trap ground circuit to
effectively monitor and record the performance and condition of lightning arresters. The monitor
features an ammeter to track leakage currents at operating voltage, providing insights into
internal moisture and component abnormalities of the lightning arrester. Additionally, an action
counter records the frequency of over-voltage movements.
Unlike traditional monitors that rely on manual inspection with pointer milliamp meters and
mechanical counters, the PTSPS096 utilizes a liquid crystal display for intuitive visualization of
current leakage values, initial installation leakage values, and the number of lightning strikes.
